Giant Power 600AH 2V Carbon Lead Battery, The Narada REXC-600, is a 2V 600Ah deep cycle sealed lead-carbon battery to provide 28.8 kWh maximum capacity at 48V at the 10-hour discharge rate, or 34.5 kWh at 48V qt the 120-hour discharge rate. This can be supplied in these sets: a 24V bank of 12 batteries, e.g. for small houses a 48V bank of 24 batteries, e.g. for full-sized off-grid houses. Typically, lead acid solar batteries have the disadvantage of taking a long amount of time to charge, despite the short amount of time in which they can discharge if needed. The reason for this comes down to the chemical reactions occurring within the battery, more specifically on the negative plate. Lead acid solar batteries suffer from lead sulfate sticking to the surface during discharge. Through the combination or replacement of the negative electrode with carbon, this issue is circumvented, allowing faster charging of the battery as well as increased performance and lifespan.

Lead carbon offers better partial state-of-charge performance, more cycles, and higher efficiency: Replacing the active material of the negative plate by a lead carbon composite potentially reduces sulfation and improves charge acceptance of the negative plate.
The advantages of lead carbon therefore are:
- Less sulfation in case of partial state-of-charge operation.
- Lower charge voltage and therefore higher efficiency and less corrosion of the positive plate.
- And the overall result is improved cycle life.
Tests have shown that lead carbon batteries withstand at least five hundred 100% DoD cycles. The tests consist of a daily discharge to 10,8V with I = 0.2C₂₀, followed by approximately two hours rest in discharged condition, and then a recharge with I = 0.2C₂₀.
