The GIANT 550AH 6V AGM product line offer all the leading design features associated with Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology, offering the user both a lower self-discharge and an increased acceptance to charge current than conventional flooded wet batteries.
Designed to handle a deeper discharge than our regular AGMs, the Giant Power range of 6V Deep Cycle AGMs is perfect for situations when you need to use large amounts of battery capacity before recharging. With a voltage of 6V and a capacity of 550Ah (Ampere-hours) this is a large, high-capacity battery typically used in applications that require a substantial amount of stored electrical energy.

These batteries offer the perfect solution when looking to replace wet batteries or upgrade existing sealed batteries. Fitted with high grade brass and lead terminals and featuring convenient carry handles. They also make use of a thick plate design and micro porous glass mat separator to deliver a high deep cycle rate and longer life. When you need a long lasting battery that can withstand the tough Australian conditions, deep cycle AGM batteries are a great choice. AGM Batteries use glass mat technology within the battery to absorb the acid, as opposed to standard flooded batteries where the acid is free flowing. This provides several key advantages over standard batteries, such as allowing the batteries to be 100% sealed, non-gassing and maintenance free (batteries will never leak acid, even if damaged), and providing a significantly longer service and cyclic life (up to 2-3x longer than standard batteries).
550AH 6V Deep Cycle AGM Batteries are perfect for applications that require either frequent cycling or renewable power storage. Common uses include running appliances when camping away from power, using with a solar panel for charging, running in a dual battery system in a vehicle, or providing safe off-grid power.

48v Totally off Grid system
We are not new to living off grid. Have been that way for 24 years and this is our third set of batteries (to an evolved system.) The previous batteries bank were lead acid, of a similar capacity, and have lasted 11 years. These batteries are physically smaller but provide similar output. Their main difference being they are AGM. This is allowing us to use more of the battery capacity before calling for a generator charge. We are very happy with their quality and performance to date (its only been about 6 weeks.) Installation (and configuration of the controller inverter) and was straight forward. We had an issue with the delivery in that the carrier suddenly would not deliver to our remote location but only as far as the nearest depot. We were refunded a fair portion of the shipping fee promptly. Support were very helpful in this regard.
